Rain or shine: What to expect when the weather rolls in

This is the Mountain State. It’s not unusual to have sunshine one minute and a surprise downpour the next, even in summer. The good news? Most shows at The Amp go ahead rain or shine. You might see folks dancing in ponchos, huddled under the merchandise stand, or laughing as they get drenched.

Umbrellas aren’t allowed (they block views and can poke out eyes), so if rain’s in the forecast, pack a lightweight poncho or a waterproof jacket. You might also want to bring a towel or cushion to keep your seat dry (just make sure whatever you bring in complies with the official venue rules. More on this above!) Another clever hack is packing your phone in a waterproof pouch or Ziplock bag to keep it dry. 

Don’t worry, even when the weather’s unpredictable, the vibe stays positive at The Amp. There’s something special about watching live music unfold as rain falls over the foothills of the Appalachians.
